Fabric Heart Wreath
I am absolutely in LOVE with this Valentines Day wreath that I made last week. Ahhhh.
I first found the idea on Smashed peas and carrots (She has an awesome tutorial so just click on her site for the “how to”) and when I saw it I just knew I had to have one! Before I made this wreath I didn’t have a single Valentines Day decoration to my name…so I am very happy to have something to hang up!

I had a hard time finding a styrofoam heart wreath base…guess that’s what you get when you try to buy one just a few weeks before Valentines Day…but I found these wooden hearts that were covered in glitter on the discount Valentine Rack at Jo-Ann’s. I just wrapped the heart in white fabric and you would never know that one of these:

turned into one of these:

Much prettier, if I do say so myself. And I do. he he.

Valentine Origami Candy Box

Last week I was trying to come up with some fun ways to share candy on Valentines day and I found this awesome site that teaches you how to make these cute origami fox boxes out of 6X6 scraps of paper. (You could also make them smaller, but 6X6 is the size he recommended)
I think they would be so fun filled with hershey kisses or candy hearts, plus playing with the box would be almost as fun as eating the candy inside! =)
Happy February! (So so glad January is over. YIPPI!)

Valentine Treat Jar

I first saw the idea to dress up “cute” little baby food jars on Make it and Love it (check out her site for the easy tutorial). She made some adorable treat jars for Halloween. So so cute. I originally wanted to make some for quick Christmas gifts but I didn’t get around to it…but hey. Making them for Valentines Day was the next best thing. I’m so happy with how cute they turned out. ahhhhh. =) Plus it is a great baby food jar craft…and when you have a baby you definitely have a lot of those…

Hershey Kiss Rose
I guess I have been on somewhat of a Hershey’s Kiss kick as of late (view my: Hershey Kiss Mice) but honestly what would Valentines Day be without them? So here is another fun (and popular) craft that you can make…Hershey Kiss Roses!
Step 1: Take the paper tails off of 2 red hershey kisses (You can also use the regular silver ones and just use red cellophane instead of clear) and glue or tape them together so they look like this:

Step 2: Cut a square of cellophane (which can be purchased in rolls, and in various colors, at most craft stores) that is big enough to be wrapped around your kisses. Hold a piece of floral wire into the opening with the cellophane wrapped around the outside of your wire.

Step 3: Starting at the top (by your hershey kisses) wrap your wire with floral tape, making sure you tuck in the ends of your cellophane.***Floral tape can be kind of tricky, so you might need a little practice. It is best to use a larger wire, especially if you haven’t ever used floral tape before. You can also practice by taping around a pen and then once you get the hang of that you can try doing it around your wire. Just remember to pull the tape as you wrap because the tape actually sticks together with a wax that only really becomes sticky when you stretch the tape.*** When you get to the end just rip off the tape and push your end down so it will stick.

Step 4: You can then go back and use floral tape to attach some artificial leaves. (Or you can also use Jolly Ranchers as leaves)

Happy Valentines Crafting!

Little Valentine Mice

Oh, I had so much fun making these cute little mice. I almost wish I was back in school so I could make a zillion of them and hand them out to my friends on Valentines Day (almost). I found the idea on Suestreehouse and I just had to make a few! Do you blame me?!?
