The season for college football is upon us (and my husband couldn’t be more excited) so why not make the most of it by crafting?! I’ve done a few (meaning 2…) football related crafts in my time and thought I’d share them for all those lovers of football (or for the lovers of football lovers).
First and foremost, the team pillowcase. These BYU beauties were made for my nephews’ 9th birthday (they are 2/3 of the cutest triplets ever). Sure, the photo quality isn’t fantastic (these were made before the birth of floralshowers so I didn’t think they’d ever be scrutinized by the general crafting public) but my nephews sure thought they rocked. I used an old pillowcase to size up my fabric and then pulled out my pencil, paper, and ruler to make the monograms as similar to the BYU logo font as possible and then appliqued those babies on. They were a hit!
My second (and most recent) football craft is another t-shirt refashion. My husband and I got some free t-shirts a few weeks ago and I instantly wanted to refashion mine, so of course I got a large instead of my actual size. After cutting off the sleeves and sewing things down to my size, I added some gathers to cinch up the sides and reattached the sleeves so they had a cute little puff to them. Sure, it is girly but it still shows my team spirit. I absolutely love it and can’t wait to wear it to the game on Saturday! If I get a picture of me wearing it, I’ll definitely share it with ya!
