It has been a long day. Maybe it’s just me, but I’m pretty sure my 2 year old had it in his head that today was the day to torment me. (I’ll just tell you that the highlights involved water, mud, and tipping over my newly planted pot). I’m sure I deserved it. (Was I not paying attention?) Probably not. (Obviously not.) But still. I’m so tired. It might help if he would sleep. You know, just a few hours (heck, what about a half hour) during the day…and then calmly drift to sleep at a reasonable night time hour. “HA! No way mom. In your dreams. If I take a nap (oh and you’ll be lucky if I will) then I’ll make sure to stay awake until at least 11:45 and if I don’t take a nap…well, I’ll start acting a little tired around 6, get your hopes up that I might go to bed early, and then surprise you by staying awake until almost 9. he he. Sucker!” …anyhow, I’m pretty sure that is basically what he is thinking. basically. yup.

Anyhow, I’m also not quite sure what I was thinking when I said yes when my mom asked if I would be in charge of finding a cute way to frost the sugar cookies we are going to be making for my sister’s wedding at the end of July. Huh? Yeah. Sure. Oh no. Did I say yes? Sounded fun until I remembered that said 2 year old has been a bit of a handful lately…or maybe more like a wheelbarrow full.

Well, needless to say…with 2 year old on the counter eating dough, and sucking frosting out of my frosting bags, I did manage to get a few test cookies done. They didn’t turn out perfect, and WOW, who knew there was so much to learn about cookies, (thank you Bridget at Bakeat350 for your awesome youtube videos and tutorials)…But, being my first time using royal icing and all, I think they turned out pretty darn good. I’m happy. Not sure about making 400 of them…but I’m happy right now.
