So, here it is! (drum roll please) My re-covered car seat! Ta Da! I am so pleased with the way it turned out! I wasn’t 100% sure I would even be able to do it, but I am glad I gave it a go. And even though it is far from perfect….it is pretty good for a first timer! Plus, my grandma always says that the little mistakes is what gives your sewing character, and that has always made me feel better when things turn out just a little, um, flawed. ha ha.
(You can click HERE to see what it looked like before.)

I sure hope my son appreciates all the work I put into his seat…he really isn’t old enough to thank me yet—but someday I know he’ll be grateful that he didn’t have to ride around town in a pink flowered chair! ha ha.
Now, what to do about that pink boppy pillow he has been using. hmm. :-)

you did a great job! I keep thinking about making a new cover for my infant car seat, but then I think about what a job it would be. It looks great!

Holy smokes, that is absolutely amazing. Your post of the before totally made me laugh, “his biggest fear is that he’ll grow up and have to sit in it.” Still laughing! But really, this is wonderful, SO fantastic!

I think this project would intimidate me, but a challenge is good every now and then. It looks great!

I am amazed that this was done by hand (by someone who doesn’t do upholstery for a living)!! You have seriously made me re-think about what is possible when a mom and her sewing machine get down to business!

I’m thinking of attempting this to my son’s “new” car seat too. I have the same problem, it used to me my daughters. lol
What type of fabric did you use?
