Little Child’s Apron

I  made this little apron a couple of month’s ago and my little girl just loves wearing it! She wears it when she’s eating, helping me cook, “doing the dishes” (aka playing in the sink), and when she is coloring, painting or playing with playdough! I think if I was to make it again I would make the neck strap a bit smaller so it didn’t hang so low—but besides that I think it is absolutely perfect. I just made it with some leftover fabric that I had in my fabric stash, and all I had to buy was some ric-rac, elastic, and a little piece of velcro…so it was very inexpensive to make. Here is a link where you can find the pattern at Craftzine.com. The apron pattern doesn’t include a pocket, but I added one using a pocket pattern from a dress I had made awhile back.

you might consider adding a button hole and a couple of buttons to the neck strap to make it adjustable. that way it will fit better now and be able to grow with her. i have a storebought apron like that and it’s great!

That is a great idea…Looking back I think I would have made the neck strap a bit smaller for her, but buttons would be a good option!

Such a beautiful little one and what an adorable apron… I love the idea of a button. I collect vintage aprons and have some done this way..and being able to adjust the neck is,I thought a wonderful idea.
