Make a Flower Pen
I have always loved flower pens…and I thought maybe if I had a few of them around the house they might be easier to find.
I also thought I would share with all of you how to make them as well. Hope you enjoy!

Supplies Needed:
*A package of regular ball point pens
*Floral Tape in various colors (This can be a hard find…I found mine at an online Wholesale Floral site, on their Floral Accessories page.)
*Silk Flowers, any kind that you like…I often see these made using Gerbera Daisies — I used Ranunculus, just in case you were wondering ![]()
Instructions:
First you need to cut your flower off of the stem, leaving about 1 inch. You can use an old pair of scissors but preferably cut them using wire cutters.

Remove (and discard) your pen lid. Hold your flower next to your pen…

and then use your floral tape to attach your flower to your pen.

Some of the light colored floral tape was kind of see through, so I went down and up and then back down again. (When you are done, just rip the tape and press it against your pen until it sticks. If you need more help using floral tape see Tip #2 in my How to Make a Boutonniere post)

And voila. Cute, fun, “harder” to lose flower pens…

in lots of fun colors!!!

Lace Flowers
So here is another Easter craft I’ve been working on the last couple of days. These are to go along with some of the other little crocheted flowers that I made for our Easter egg hunt. I thought these ones, made out of lace, might be a bit cuter for some of the older girls.

So all you need is:

* 1 yard of lace (Thank you grandma for giving me 2 gigantic bags of it!!!)
* matching felt for the back
* a hair clip
* a button/decorative brad for flower center
* hot glue
* and my tutorial on how to make a ribbon flower (because it’s exactly the same to make with lace
)
And you’ll need some time…because once you start you might not be able to stop:

You can make these as big or as small as you want…here are a few little ones that I made with some scaps:

Flower Hair Clips

You would think I wasn’t interested in doing anything else but crochet flowers! I promise though that someday I will move on and post about something else…before I bore you all to death!
he he.
Anyhow, I just had to show off all of these cute clips I made for Easter. I am in charge of our family Easter egg hunt for all of the little kids, and I made these for clips for the 4 littlest girls. I am so excited! YAY for cute little girls and cute little hair clips. They really make me happy…

Crocheted Flower Cards

I am getting SO excited for Easter!!! Every year my family has this huge Easter party at my grandmas house. I’m not even joking when I say it is literally one of my favorite days of the entire year!
Anyhow, this year I thought I would make a few cute little Easter cards. I really like making mini cards—because everything’s cuter when it’s small RIGHT!?! Well, I think I heard that somewhere…hmm.
Anyhow, I just crocheted some little crochet flowers and then hot glued them onto my card, then I drew a stem and leaves and a few little Easter eggs. When my husband saw them he was amazed at my artistic ability…ha ha, I know it’s not THAT good—but he was nice enough to flatter me ![]()
This one I just made using a 3X5 index card, folded right in half:

For this one, instead of gluing (uh, that word looks really weird?) the flower onto the card, I put the flower on a hair clip and then cut 2 little slits in the card for the clip to fit through…just perfect for my little girl:

Happy Easter Everyone!!!

Little Crochet Flower Pattern
So, my flower fetish continues! And this time I thought I would share with you a simple crocheted version.

I’ve never written a crochet pattern down before—so make sure to let me know if it doesn’t make any sense. I thought that this one was simple enough that I could hopefully write it down without confusing you. So here is my crochet pattern writing debut (and seriously let me know if I should give up my pattern writing right now, or if I did okay
):
Small Crocheted Flower Pattern:
Yarn: Medium worsted weight yarn (I recommend Caron Simply Soft)
Hook Size: GForm a magic circle, and work all stitches into the center of the circle.
* ch 2, 2 dc, ch 2, slip stitch. (Repeat from * 4 more times, you will have 5 petals). Tighten magic circle and finish off.
Hot glue a button of your choice to the center of your flower.
After you make your crocheted flower, it is really easy to turn it into a cute little hair clip! Using hot glue simply cover a double prong clip (which can be purchased at a beauty supply store) with ribbon. The flat part of the clip should be the part that will be against your head, and I like to leave this side “ribbon free” so it will stay in baby fine hair. If you are worried about the ribbon fraying just use a little fray check on the ends or a little clear nail polish…

Then hot glue the clip to the back of your crocheted flower.

And Voila. Now you’ve got an aesthetically pleasing hair clip that the humans will go nuts over!

Happy Crocheting!
