Stories on CD

WOW! I cannot believe that Christmas is in 2 days! My husband claims that today, Christmas eve’s eve is his favorite day of the whole year. I asked him why, and he said : “because it is just so exciting!” And I suppose it is–though I think the actual Christmas eve is more exciting…and then of course Christmas is even more exciting than that…but to each his own!
I am excited though, because today I finished up one of my daughters Christmas presents (it’s about time!) Anyhow, I have been so excited about it I just couldn’t wait to share.
My 3 year old daughter is a HUGE fan of books on tape. We have been checking them out from the library and listening to them over and over and over and over and over…and over again in the car. And so I thought, “wouldn’t it be fun to make our own!?!” I figured to buy one would probably cost me about $14.00 or so and so of course making them would be much cheaper. (and I am all about cheap!)
My aunt found this great book sale at the elementary school down the street and I was able to get 10 books for $20.00! Woot woot! And then I had Audreys Grandmothers, Aunts and of course me and her dad each read her a book. I recorded them on my MAC and then later went in and added a “DING” (using Garage Band) so she would know when to turn the page.
Have I mentioned yet that I am super excited! She is going to love love love love LOVE her new books! YAY for fabulous Christmas gifts! If you can’t tell…I am very happy!

I just love Table Tents!
A month or so ago I did a tutorial on how to make a kids play tent! Well, I am so excited because today it is being featured on one of my favorite craft sites One Pretty Thing! I was also excited to see that Beth from mamabeefromthehive.blogspot.com shared a link to the table tent that she made for her kids. Here is a pic I snagged from her site:

She made hers using a couple of white sheets and then she did some adorable applique on it! I absolutely love it…and it has given me some ideas on how to spruce mine up! Thank you so much for sharing! And everybody visit her site—it is so cute!
