Calendar
This year for Christmas I made my Mother and my Mother-in-law both calendars. (I made my Mother-in-law a calendar last year, and it was such a hit, that I have now decided to make it a tradition.) Anyhow, I just had to show off the ones that I made. This one I made for my mom:

I made a separate calendar and picture for each month of the year and attached magnet strips to the back of each one, as well as to the hanging “thing” (that is the technical term for “a piece of chipboard that is covered with scrapbook paper.”) If that made absolutely no sense you can just view the picture below:

And here is the one I made for my Mother-in-Law:

Christmas Idea #4: Scrapbook Calendar
I haven’t done a good Christmas Idea post in awhile, so I thought it was about time I shared another one with you. I’ve been getting behind. Oh My!
I made this calendar last year for my mother in law. Basically I just took 8×8 pieces of paper and scrapbooked them with pictures I had taken during the month. (I tried to do one a month the whole year long so that it wouldn’t be a big deal to get it done…) Then I just printed off some 8×8 blank calendar pages, wrote all of the important birthdays and holidays down and then compiled them using 8×8 plastic scrapbook page protectors tied together with ribbon. (sorry I don’t have a picture of the completed calendar…gave it away. =)
I think I am going to make this a yearly tradition because I thought it was so fun to do…and mom seemed to like it=)

Father’s Day Cards

Well, first off let me apologize for the wacky color of my picture. oh dear. Sometimes I am just camera challenged—so sorry! Anyhow, with Father’s Day coming up this Sunday I decided to make some father’s day cards. I got this super cute idea at familyfun.go.com (just visit their site for instructions) and I thought I would pass it along to you! They are super easy and a great way to use up some random pieces of scrapbook paper, of which I seem to have a plethora! So happy card making and happy Father’s Day! Yippi!

Mother’s Day Mini-cards
Last year for Christmas I got a Cricut cutting machine, that sadly I haven’t really had the time to use. So, a few days ago I pulled it out and thought I would try my hand at making some Mother’s day cards. Instead of making traditional sized cards which are about 4 1/2 x 5 1/2 , I opted to make mini-cards using white 3×5 index cards.
What I used:
- Cricut cutting machine (George & Basic Shapes cartridge)
- Cricut paper trimmer with scoring blade
- glue stick
- brads
- scrapbook paper
- 3×5 index cards
How To:
- fold 3×5 index card in half using a scoring blade/tool (very important so you will have a nice crisp fold!)
- cut out 1″ letters using the Cricut (of course you could also use di-cuts, or stickers etc.)
- cut 3 flowers out in different sizes so you can layer them (I made the middle flower a different color.)
- glue on letters, and any decorative background paper you want, and then attach the flowers using a decorative brad.
Simple as Pie.
My Inspiration:
Way back in Junior High, I used to take colored index cards and make mini-cards to pass to my friends during class. I would just fold them in half, draw a picture on the front, write a message on the inside, and I always wrote “Made 4 you, by Me” on the back. Just a few months ago, one of my friends said to me “Remember those cards you used to make?” ha ha. YUP! These are just my grown up version!
